Got a source? The important part is what they saw at which hospital that made your expression harden. If the report lists things like nodule size or a TI-RADS score, at least upload that.
My mother also had something show up on her thyroid during a checkup, so she went to a bigger hospital, and it ended up being cancer. But after surgery and just taking medication, she can live a completely normal life. It's been 7 years now, and she even goes hiking. It's not confirmed yet, so let's just get the results first.
If it's thyroid, don't be too scared right away. It progresses very slowly and has a good prognosis, so there's a high chance you'll just have an ultrasound + fine-needle aspiration again at a big hospital. I also have a nodule and have only been doing follow-up observation for 5 years now, with no issues.
Well, that's a bit... Local clinics often have low-resolution ultrasounds, so things can look ambiguous. And it's common for a big hospital to find it's nothing at all, to the point that it feels anticlimactic. Don't start by searching—book a medical appointment first.
Bring your test results and go straight to the endocrinology department at as large a hospital as possible. Getting retested at a local clinic will only waste time. For thyroid issues, it's best to be seen at a university hospital-level facility.
