Where do you move your deposits when interest rates fall?

My deposit matures next month, and looking at the renewal rate, it’s clearly not what it used to be.

I’m torn between letting it sit in a parking account for a while and then splitting it into dividend stocks, or just leaving it in a CMA and waiting. Since it’s short-term money, I want to avoid principal loss, but given that deposit rates are likely to fall further, I wonder if I should move at least some of it now.

I’d like to hear what others who’ve had similar concerns did.

When my maturity date comes around, I just let it sit in a parking account for about a month lol. Hurriedly moving it and then moving it back is too stressful.

For short-term money, dividend stocks don’t really seem like the right fit. Putting short-term funds into something where the principal can swing 10% just to earn a 3–4% dividend yield feels like putting the cart before the horse. I split my money across 3-month/6-month/1-year maturities and run it like a ladder, and keep only the cash I need immediately in a CMA. Whenever rates fall further, I increase the weighting toward longer maturities. Not going all in at once has been the most comfortable approach for me.
