They say interest rates are being cut, so why doesn’t it feel like it at all?

The news is making a big deal about rate cuts, but my loan interest hasn’t changed, and deposit rates dropped first. Is this just how banks are, or am I missing something?

Everyone around me says I should refinance my loan, but some say switching now could actually work against me, so I’m just waiting and seeing for now.
