Baldur's Gate 3: 60-Hour Review (Minimal Spoilers)

I bought it on sale and have been hooked for a month—it's become a true all-time favorite. Suddenly I can't wait to get off work.

Act 1 can feel a bit slow, but from Act 2 onward you get completely sucked in. You can really feel the choices branching in meaningful ways. Not save-scumming actually makes it more fun.

It’s been so long since a game made me look forward to getting off work... I used to cut back on sleep during that period too.

At 60 hours you're still basically just out of Act 1—if you're already calling it your all-time favorite, you might get blindsided later lol. I didn't really understand this game until I got to Act 3.

But whether Act 2 suddenly becomes really immersive seems to vary a lot from person to person. For me, Act 2 got too dark in atmosphere, so I liked Act 1 better.

I set it to minimal spoilers, but it’s a bit awkward if people start talking about Act 3 in the comments... I’m still on Act 1.

I agree—not save-scumming is fun; that’s probably the real appeal of this game. Even if you fail, things somehow work out.
