Baldur's Gate 3 Post-Ending Review... This Is GOTY for Sure

I finally saw the ending after 137 hours. Baldur's Gate 3. Honestly, the first 10 hours were so hard and I had no idea what direction to take, so I almost quit. But after hearing the community say "just pick the right class," I started with a Bard.

After that, it became a completely different game. Persuading in dialogues, saving the whole party with Bard buffs in combat, and there was even a route where I negotiated with a boss through song. How much freedom is there? Even without a key, you can knock on the door, smash a window, punch a hole through, or even stack boxes to climb over.

Especially in the Grymforge fight, I got chills when I discovered there was a mercury reservoir below that I could blow up. Every battle is like a puzzle in that way, so I highly recommend it to anyone tired of formulaic combat.

There are downsides too. First, loading times are long. Fast travel takes forever. Second, inventory management is a mess. With four party members' gear to keep track of, time just vanishes. Still, I think the overall story immersion and direction are top-tier. If you haven't played it yet, keep an eye out for a Black Friday sale.

Yeah, Bard is the GOAT lol, the dialogue is more fun than combat.

Well, GOTY is a bit much? I couldn't even make it to the third playthrough because of the loading and inventory.

Oh, I was super surprised when I found that mercury container there too lol. Until then I thought it was just an ordinary RPG, but from that moment I got hooked on the game. As for inventory... I found it worked better to pile all the party items onto one character and have each party member only manage their own equipment.

Loading really needs to be improved. Still, the ending's emotional impact lingers.

I put in 137 hours, so clearly it was fun, but I was a bit disappointed with the ending branches and the latter part of Chapter 3. Compared to the early freedom, the latter part was more linear than expected.

I do the box stacking skip too lol, but I've never heard of the 'song agreement' with a bard. Which boss is that?
