Seeking Realistic Advice on Getting a Developer Job as a Non-CS Major

I'm a 30-year-old non-CS major currently studying web development at a government-sponsored academy. Lately, I keep hearing that the job market is really tough, and it's making me anxious. I've prepared about 3 projects for my portfolio, using Java Spring Boot and React. Are there any non-CS majors who successfully landed a developer job? I'd appreciate some realistic advice.
