3 Weeks Off Sleeping Pills: What I've Recorded
I took half a sleeping pill for over two years. Not to quit entirely, but to cut down, I talked it over with my doctor and I'm tapering off.
I made three main changes: no caffeine after 2 p.m., no phone in bed, and don't lie in bed when I can't sleep.
The third was the hardest, but it had the biggest effect. I heard that lying awake and tossing and turning is what ruins sleep quality the most.
Now, in week 3, I've reduced to half a pill every other day, and it's just okay. No dramatic changes. Just that my head feels less heavy when I wake up in the morning. I'm keeping an eye on it.
