Question for plant people. Why are the leaf tips turning brown and crispy?
I've had my monstera for 6 months, and recently the leaf tips have started turning brown and drying out. I water it once a week and keep it near a window, but I've been avoiding direct sunlight.
I looked it up online and it could be overwatering or underwatering, but I honestly can't tell. Has anyone had the same experience? How did you fix it?

Yeah, I was like that too. Every time you water, check if the soil is dry.
I had the same symptom when I was growing monstera, but it turned out it wasn't overwatering—it was a humidity issue. In winter, when the air gets dry, the leaf tips start to scorch. It improved after I occasionally misted the leaves with a spray bottle or placed it next to a humidifier. Also, I heard that the chlorine in tap water isn't great, so letting it sit out for a day before using it helps too.
Well, it might not be the water itself—it could be because the leaves got wet. A lot of people drench the leaves when watering, and that makes the leaf tips scorch. And I'm not sure how strict 'avoid direct sunlight' should be. If it's by a window, the light can be stronger than you think, so putting up a curtain might be better.
