I was dazed for a long while after watching <Zone of Interest>
It’s not the ending—it’s the sound that makes this film terrifying. The visuals are peaceful, but the sounds coming from behind keep making you uncomfortable.
If you go in expecting action, you might be disappointed, but for me, that’s exactly why it stayed with me longer.

I agree—the sound was the real star.
Well, I'm not so sure about that. Saying the sound is scary ultimately means it's using direction to frighten you—but isn't that something everyone already knows? If that's all it comes down to, it's just a movie with good sound design, and what makes this movie special goes beyond that.
I also couldn’t say a word for about 30 minutes after coming out of this movie. What’s on screen is just really ordinary family life, but the sounds behind it kept lingering in my head... especially because I kept waking up briefly during the night lol. The next day at work, all I did was talk about this with people.
