Another resume rejection today

I have 3 years of experience, but I got rejected at the resume screening stage at 8 out of 10 companies. Only one place even gave me a coding test. Ugh, I'm losing my mind. Is my main tech stack just that bad?

Yeah, everyone's getting filtered out in the document stage these days. It's not just you.

If you're three years in, wouldn't your resume be weak in project experience? Before blaming the stack, take another look at your resume.

Well, that's a bit of a stretch. Even if your specialty stack isn't great, experienced hires usually get a decent resume screening pass rate.

I was in a similar spot at year three. Writing 'achievements' as numbers on my resume definitely made a difference—things like team contribution and improvement metrics.

Oh, I didn't know that. These days, they say even new grads get only 10 offers out of 100 applications.

More often than not, it's not the stack but your career not matching what the company wants. If that's 8 out of 10 places, try tidying up your resume keywords.

Isn't that an old story? These days, the IT market itself is strange. Even an acquaintance of mine with 5 years of experience got rejected at the resume screening, lol.

If you only took the coding test at one place, doesn't that mean you applied to too few places in the first place? I think you need to apply to at least 30–50 places to get even one pass.
