The sky on my way home today was absolutely insane
When I came out of the subway station, it was sunset, and the whole sky was pink. I stood there watching for about 30 seconds. Everyone else was just staring at their phones at that moment, which felt like a bit of a shame lol

If there's no picture, it's just text lol
Oh, I didn’t know this—I should have looked at the sky today too.
Same here. Lately I get off work right around sunset, so I get a great view of the sky—but when I actually try to take a photo, it never turns out right, which is a shame.
Agreed, it was really pretty today.
I heard they stood there watching for 30 seconds, so I wondered what it was, but it was just talk about the sky. Why is this getting so many upvotes?
The part about everyone just staring at their phones—I'm not so sure. They all had their own day too, and I don't really like the implication that people who didn't look at their phones are somehow better.
The pink sky looks that way because of scattering when there are lots of fine dust or water vapor particles in the atmosphere—kind of a romance-killing explanation, but it really is pretty. Actually, the 20–30 minutes right after sunset is when the colors come out most intensely, so those 30 seconds are actually quite the golden window. I take a picture of the sky every now and then on my way home from work and collect them in a folder, and when you look at a year's worth, the colors differ by season, so it's surprisingly fun lol
