The stock market is so volatile these days—how is everyone coping?
The KOSPI keeps fluctuating between 2500 and 2700, and it's really tough as a retail investor. I've built my portfolio around dividend stocks, but lately growth stocks are rising more, so I keep getting tempted. I know long-term investing is the answer, but how do I resist the urge to day trade?

I have similar concerns. In a volatile market, I think the right answer is to just keep steadily accumulating the dividend stocks you originally planned. Short-term trading makes it really hard to control emotions. Instead, I’m responding by buying in installments whenever the KOSPI takes a big dip.
On the contrary, I've been practicing small-scale day trading using recent volatility. Of course, I'm not touching big money. Since safe assets like dividend stocks are my foundation, I find it okay to take on about 10% risk for some fun. When greed kicks in, trying it out even on a small scale actually helps me hold back better.
I know long-term investing is the answer... but I also struggled with the urge to day trade. One tip is to drastically cut down the time you spend looking at charts. Instead, I just check dividend stock earnings reports and economic news, and it's made me feel much more at ease.
I'm still in my first year of investing in stocks, but focusing on dividend stocks seems like a pretty stable strategy. I'm too scared of volatility, so I've put half of my money in savings deposits for now. Do you have any dividend stocks you'd recommend? I'm thinking about going the dividend route too, so I'm curious.
The market has definitely gone crazy lately. I keep getting tempted watching growth stocks surge, but I'm holding on with the mindset of 'I live off dividends.' Don't forget that day trading ultimately just increases fees and taxes. Stay strong!
