Coffee prices have gone up so much lately, I've started brewing at home
I used to buy an Americano at a cafe every morning, but at 5,000 won per cup, that's 150,000 won a month. So I started buying drip bags and brewing at home—the taste is decent, and it's down to about 1,000 won per cup. But doing the dishes every day is a bit of a hassle, lol. If anyone has tips for saving on coffee costs, please share.

100% agree with the 'dishes are annoying' sentiment lol. I also find throwing away coffee grounds to be a bit of a hassle. So these days, I buy coffee bags, put them in my tumbler, and steep them—it's super convenient. The taste isn't bad either, and the price is affordable.
I switched from coffee to barley tea or roasted corn tea. It's much cheaper, and since I cut down on caffeine, I sleep better and feel healthier. Still, when I crave an Americano, I have one drip bag every now and then.
15,000 won a month is really burdensome. I make cold brew coffee and keep it in the fridge. Once I make it, it lasts a week, and since I dilute it with water, it goes a long way. I only have to do the dishes once, so it's convenient.
I had a similar dilemma, but these days I'm using a secondhand capsule coffee machine. It costs about 700 won per cup and there's almost no cleanup, so it's convenient. Drip bags are nice too, but having a machine saves a lot of time.
I also brew coffee at home, and it's actually cheaper when you buy roasted beans. If you do a group order with a few friends, you can save on shipping too. As for the dishes, buying a small dishwasher solved that problem. If you live alone, getting a small one is totally fine.
Try a French press instead of drip bags. The cleanup is similar, but the taste is richer and smoother. I brew 4 cups at a time in a large batch, keep it in the fridge, and reheat it. It saves time and works great.
Right? Coffee prices are really scary. I bought a pour-over set, and at first it was a hassle, but once I got into it, it became a hobby. Even the cleanup is fine once it's part of your routine. Grinding your own beans is cheaper and fresher too!
