I used to drink 3–4 cups of Americano a day, but recently my insomnia has gotten worse, so I'm trying to cut back on caffeine.
In the first week, I replaced it with green tea, but while it has less caffeine than coffee, drinking 5 cups a day ended up being similar. So now I'm looking for drinks with almost no caffeine.
These days, I'm alternating between barley tea, corn tea, rooibos tea, and peppermint tea. Peppermint tea in particular feels refreshing and works well for me. Does anyone have other recommendations? Also, I've heard that decaf coffee beans can be a good option—I'm curious if the taste is very different.
I had similar concerns, but these days I drink coffee made with decaffeinated beans. It's definitely smoother and less bitter than regular coffee, but once you get used to it, it's fine. Since over 97% of the caffeine is removed, I worry less about insomnia. At first, I thought, 'Is this even coffee?' but after about two weeks, regular coffee actually started to feel heavy and astringent. Give it a try!

Peppermint tea is great! I also recommend hibiscus tea. It has a sweet and tangy flavor, and when served iced, it's refreshing with almost no caffeine. Job's tears tea is also a good option—it's nutty and slightly sweet, making it a nice coffee substitute. However, job's tears tea has some calories, so be cautious if you're on a diet. I also enjoy barley tea with a splash of lemon juice.

If you're curious about the taste of decaf coffee, try ordering it at places like Starbucks or Twosome Place. It's a bit more expensive, but surprisingly, it doesn't taste much different from regular coffee. Personally, I've heard that chamomile tea also helps with insomnia, so I drink it in the evening—the subtle honey scent puts me in a good mood. If you're craving something sweet, try adding a spoonful of honey!
