Is the Tech Industry in a Winter Right Now?
Three of my friends working at startups have already been laid off. Just last year, people were jumping into startups saying 'let's ride the AI wave,' but now they're shutting down one after another.

Agreed... The startup scene seems really frozen over.
But isn't that just the AI bubble deflating, not a winter for the entire industry? Big tech companies are actually hiring more.
My friend was all happy about getting Series C funding last year, but got laid off in 3 months lol. It's really brutal out there.
Do you have a source? It's a bit much to generalize based just on stories from people around you.
From a founder's perspective, now is actually a good time to streamline. I also work at a startup, and the atmosphere is more about solidifying fundamentals rather than the reckless growth we saw last year.
AI companies that just follow the trend without real innovation seem especially bad. It's only natural that most companies focused on marketing rather than technology end up failing.
I feel the same. After doing SI for 10 years, I switched to an AI startup last year, but I left after just 6 months.
Isn't that old news? These days, demand for AI semiconductors is exploding, so the industry is actually booming.
