My Honest Thoughts After One Year of Investing 500,000 Won a Month in ETFs
Since around this time last year, I’ve been investing 500,000 won a month, split 50/50 between S&P 500 and Nasdaq ETFs. After a year, the returns are... I think the market was just good. I had zero skill in it.
The hardest part was keeping the automatic transfer going when volatility was high. When things hit -8% in March, I thought about pausing it for a moment, but I’m glad I just left it on automatic.
Now, when my paycheck comes in, I just check the automatic transfer date. Cutting down the time I spend looking at tickers reduced my stress too. Regular investing really does seem right for lazy people.

This is right lol — the answer is to not look at the ticker.
Do you have a source? You didn’t mention what the return rate was. Concluding that the market was good based on one year seems a bit premature. A 50/50 ETF split ultimately amounts to going all-in on US large caps, so you need to consider exchange rates as well. P&L valued in KRW can differ from USD terms, so it would have been much better if you had addressed that part.
True, auto-debit is the hardest lol. My hands were shaking in March too.
