Got my genetic test results... shocked by high colorectal cancer risk
The genetic test I took a month ago came back yesterday, and it showed an elevated risk of developing colorectal cancer in several categories. Of course, it's not confirmed by genetic factors alone, but I feel really terrible.
Given how much delivery food, late-night snacks, and alcohol I've been consuming... I think I really need to pay serious attention to my diet from now on.
I've already booked a hospital consultation for tomorrow. If anyone else has done a similar test, I'd appreciate it if you could share your management methods.

Isn't the accuracy of those tests lower than you'd think? A hospital consultation seems like the most accurate option.
I was also shocked when my test results showed a high risk of breast cancer, but when I actually went to the hospital and consulted, they said it would be fine as long as I manage it well. Since then, I've been eating mostly vegetables and started exercising. Don't worry too much!
I also had a high risk of colorectal cancer from the same test last year, and I'm still managing it. The hospital told me to get regular colonoscopies. I cut down on delivery food and started cooking at home, and six months later I lost weight and my blood test results improved. I also cut back to about one drink a week. Since genetic test results aren't definitive, you can definitely overcome it by improving your lifestyle. Good luck with your consultation tomorrow!
