Thinking about changing jobs – what do you think about joining a startup for a 10 million won raise?
I'm currently at a mid-sized company, and I'm 29. My starting salary was a bit low, and for the past three years at a junior level it's barely gone up.
Recently I got an offer from an AI startup. They're offering at least 10 million won more than my current salary, and the role is LLM service development – what I originally wanted to do. But I'm a bit worried about stability. Being a startup, it might not even last a year.
I know everyone says to go for it, but I want to hear from people who actually joined a startup and regretted it. A friend of mine at a startup says, "The opportunity itself is completely different"...

I was at a startup for two years, then came back to a mid-sized company. I got a higher salary, but it came with overtime and burnout, and eventually I quit. Now, being stable is a real blessing.

Nah, if your salary hasn't changed after 3 years, you should just switch. They're offering 1,000 more, why hesitate?
Actually, the 1,000 difference is big, but be sure to check the stock option terms and severance pay calculation in the contract. From what I've seen, there were cases that were all just talk.
