I’m an elementary school parent: is this amount of homework normal these days?
My child is in third grade, and every day the homework includes two pages from a math workbook, a reading log, and preparing for an English vocabulary test. On days when they also go to cram school, there are many nights they don’t get to bed until after 10 p.m.
I hear it wasn’t like this in the past, but I’m curious whether this is just how things are these days. I find myself wondering if I should push my child to do more, but then I worry whether this is really okay, and I don’t feel at ease.

It's a bit much for a third grader to be going to sleep past 10 p.m. My child is in third grade too, and when they don't go to cram school and just do homework, they're done by 8. If cram school homework piles on top of that, of course they fall behind. Rather than adding more for them to do, I think the first step is to cut back on cram school or talk to the school teacher about adjusting the homework load.
For real, is it like this for everyone these days? Or is it just my neighborhood?
