Which is better for coding, GPT or Claude?

I've been switching between the two lately, but honestly I can't tell lol. What does everyone use in real work?

I've heard Claude is better when you throw it whole project files and ask questions—has anyone actually felt that?

It varies lol. But lately Claude seems a bit better at writing code.

In practice, prompts matter more than tools. Even when you ask the same thing, the result depends on how you phrase the question.

Got a source? Making decisions based on that kind of hearsay is a bit...

Well, that's a bit... Does dumping the whole file in actually work every time? More often than not the tokens blow up and it forgets the earlier parts.

That's why I pay for both too. Honestly, there's no right answer—it just comes down to different use cases. I keep Claude open for design, refactoring, and code review, and I use GPT when I need to pull out a single short function or track down the cause of an error message, because it responds faster. And when it comes to throwing multiple large files at it all at once, Claude definitely drops less.
