Help Choosing Between Coding Bootcamp and Computer Science Degree
I'm in my early 30s and a non-CS major. I'm considering a career switch to developer.
Bootcamps offer the advantage of short-term intensive training for quick employment.
A degree takes 4 years but builds a solid foundation.
Could any seniors who have taken either path give me advice? Especially in the long run, which choice is better?

Haha, both have pros and cons. It depends on how quickly you need to make money.
I also did a bootcamp in my 30s, and now I'm five years in. The first two years were great because I got a job quickly, but these days I often regret not having solid CS fundamentals. I really recommend a bachelor's degree.
That's old news, isn't it? These days, bootcamps have improved their curriculum and teach a lot of fundamentals. On the other hand, a bachelor's degree is too theoretical, so it takes time to adapt to the workplace.
Yeah, a bachelor's degree is better in the long run. Bootcamps are good for getting started, but they start to show their limits.
