How do you push through on days you don't feel like going to the gym?
I'm three months into working out, and lately, with the cold weather, I've been having more days where I just don't feel like going. Still, I force myself to put on my workout clothes and head out, but once I get to the gym, I end up doing just 30 minutes and coming home. For those of you who've been consistent long-term, how do you keep your motivation up?

I just go with the mindset of 'let's try it for just 10 minutes.' Once I start, I end up doing at least 30 minutes anyway. Just putting on workout clothes and heading out is already a great achievement!
Don't you think the routine might be too intense? I think it's fine to just do stretching or cardio on light days. Reducing the pressure actually helps with consistency.
On days I don't want to go, I tell myself, 'Today I'll just focus on my weakest area.' When the goal is small, the pressure is lighter, and I end up doing more anyway. When it's cold, thinking about a warm shower while heading there is also a good tip!
I go to the gym because I find it fun to watch people. If I see familiar faces, I say hi; if not, I pass the time checking out new machines, and before I know it, my workout is done. Social motivation works pretty well for me too.
Three months is when habits start to take root, so it would be a shame to give up now. I held on with the mindset that 'if I don't go today, I won't go tomorrow either.' Aiming for just three times a week is enough, so don't be too hard on yourself!
I felt the same way around the 3-month mark. Now I'm in my second year, and I've stuck with it by adopting the mindset that 'the days you least want to go are the ones that give you the biggest sense of accomplishment.' Also, rewarding yourself with a simple snack or coffee after a workout really helps.
How about replacing outdoor workouts with home training when it's cold? There are plenty of 20-minute bodyweight exercise videos on YouTube. It's better than taking a complete rest.
I keep records using a workout app, and I hate breaking my streak, so I end up going even if I have to force myself. Sometimes a little obsession can be motivating.
Even 30 minutes is better than not going at all! I was the same in the beginning, but over time your body adapts and it naturally increases. Now I do 1 hour as a baseline. Hang in there!
