I signed up for a year at the gym, and now the pressure of wasting money if I don't go is driving me crazy

I paid for the annual membership in January and went faithfully until March, but now I'm down to maybe once or twice a month. My clothes don't fit anymore—I've gained weight. But I can't get a refund, so I keep putting it off. Guess I'll just do some cardio at home today.

Yeah, it's not a waste of money lol, same here.

I also got a one-year membership last year and quit after three months... I knew it wasn't refundable, so I just kept trying to make peace with it. But honestly, the 'what a waste of money' pressure just stressed me out. I'll just give up on it and get a one-month pass next time.

Isn't the real issue that you're not exercising, not the wasted money? Just go out starting today. What good is doing cardio at home?

This is just weak-willed, honestly.

If it's non-refundable, just aim to go twice a week for the remaining period. Once you let go of thinking it's a waste of money, it actually becomes easier to go.

Wow, same as me. I haven't been going out since March either, but today I was feeling down about the fit of my clothes, so I ended up going out in workout clothes lol. Gotta do something.

Cardio can be done at home, lol, but the problem is that the treadmill at the gym is what motivates you.
