I exchange currency in small amounts whenever I need to. If I do it all at once and can’t time it right, it messes with my head... So splitting it roughly 3:3:4 at least puts my mind a bit more at ease.

Using something like Travel Wallet or Hana Travelog gets you a better exchange rate, and it's better than exchanging money at a bank counter. If you're not in a rush, look into those options.
