Personal Thoughts on AI Regulation (Current Affairs)
Recently, the EU passed the AI Act, and South Korea is also discussing AI legislation. I believe we need to ensure safety without hindering AI development.
Of course, high-risk AI (autonomous driving, medical diagnosis) requires regulation. But if we regulate creative tools or chatbots too much, it might stifle innovation.
Another thing is that regulation risks favoring a small number of big companies. Startups can't afford the regulatory costs.
I hope the government creates a balanced policy. I'm curious about your opinions as well.

Yeah, I agree. Especially regarding the concerns about preferential treatment for large corporations.
Actually working at a startup, the regulatory costs are no joke. Small companies have to pull out all their manpower just to prepare for audits. I think the government should expand things like regulatory sandboxes further.
But without regulation, there could be bigger problems. If an autonomous driving accident happens, who's going to take responsibility? I think we need a more macro-level approach.
Do you have any evidence? It sounds too vague.
I agree that regulating even creative tools is excessive. But the EU AI Act is principle-based, so it's more flexible than you think. Shouldn't Korea also go in that direction?
