Thoughts from Reading News About AI Regulation Bills
There's been a lot of discussion about AI regulation lately, and from a developer's perspective, the thing I'm most curious about is "how far the regulations extend." Do they also apply to side projects built by individuals, or only to things above a certain scale?
In the industry, some say regulation will stifle innovation, while others argue that safeguards are necessary. Personally, I think at minimum some kind of disclosure requirement is needed. The biggest problem seems to be that AI-generated writing gets consumed without people knowing whether it was written by AI or not.
What do you all think?

The disclosure requirement is truly the bare minimum. But actually complying with it is a surprisingly heavy burden for individual developers. Adding a module to insert watermarks into a side project and testing it... The intent behind the regulation is good, but if the threshold is based only on "scale," once again only big companies get off easy lol
