I tried making merch with AI images, and the response has been great
I’m someone who used to draw as a hobby, and these days I’m generating concepts really quickly with image generation models. I usually spend a lot of time working out composition, but by generating dozens of idea sketches with it and then personally refining the ones I like, my speed has definitely picked up.
Last month I made a small batch of sticker merch using designs created this way, and the response among friends and acquaintances was quite good. Of course, copyright and training data issues are still things I keep worrying about, so I think I need to be careful when using it commercially.
The takeaway is that it feels closer to “using AI to quickly pull out ideas” than “AI draws it for you.” How is everyone using it in their creative work?
