Anyone Tried Practicing English Conversation with ChatGPT?
I want to improve my English conversation skills, but I don't have time to attend classes, so I'm thinking of practicing with ChatGPT. I heard that using the voice input feature makes it feel like a real conversation—does it actually work? I'm especially curious if it can catch grammar mistakes or help me learn natural expressions. Has anyone here tried it?

I've been practicing English conversation with ChatGPT for about three months now, and I really like that I can speak without any pressure. It catches grammar errors quite well and even suggests more natural expressions. However, it's not as dynamic as real conversations with people, so I'd recommend it for learning basic conversation or patterns.
I've tried the voice input feature, and the recognition rate was surprisingly decent. However, the grammar correction sometimes feels too rigid, so it might differ a bit from actual native expressions. Still, I think it's a good option for practicing in spare moments when you can't make it to a language academy.
Have you tried adding a prompt to ChatGPT like, 'You are an English teacher, and you naturally correct my grammar errors'? I did that, and it was much more effective. It was especially helpful for learning business English expressions, and since it's free, there's no burden.
Let me offer a different perspective. Practicing with ChatGPT made me realize the tempo is different from real conversations, so I ended up feeling flustered when talking to foreigners later. Grammar correction is good, but you can't learn intonation or nuance, so keep that in mind. I recommend using it as a supplementary tool rather than a replacement for language schools.
