I’m using ChatGPT to write my cover letter, but it only gives me clichés

These days I’m drafting my cover letter with ChatGPT—how are you all wording your prompts? When I write them, I only get obvious lines like “a person who can grow.”

Don't have AI write from scratch—just having it proofread the sentences I wrote is much better.

Try specifying this in your prompt: "No clichés—use concrete experiences instead of abstract words." I first paste three lines about something I actually experienced, then have it polish that. If you just say "Write my cover letter," of course you'll get a template.
