Asked ChatGPT to write a story and it's pretty funny lol
I was bored, so I prompted it with 'After coming home from work, a doppelganger is sitting in my seat' and had it write a short story. It turned out incredibly engaging. I guess AI can now hold its own in creative writing.

Agreed, I tried it too and it was surprisingly good.
I tried a similar prompt about 'what happens after I die' and it was genuinely chilling. But for something written by AI, it was pretty immersive. Next time, try adding a twist lol
Well... when reading AI-written novels, you start to notice patterns, making it hard to keep reading for long. I think it's still too early for creative competition.
Do you have the source? I'd like to try it out too. Could you share the prompt?
It's really amazing, right? I also first tried writing with 'If the world ends tomorrow?' and it was more serious and touching than I expected. But the sentences felt a bit formulaic.
Is that right? AI novels are ultimately just a patchwork of training data, so they come off as plagiarism.
Oh, I didn't know this lol. I'll have to try it after work too.
It's fine to enjoy for fun, but I think it's still not up to par for creative competition. It lacks the emotional expression and individuality of a human writer, and at some point it falls into clichéd developments. Still, it's decent for passing the time.
Same here. AI writing has really improved lately. But once you get past about three pages, they all start to look alike and it gets boring lol
