Is the Paid Version of ChatGPT Really Worth the Money?

I've only been using the free GPT-3.5 so far, but people around me say 4o is much better, so I'm considering upgrading. $20 a month is a bit of a burden—how satisfied are those of you who actually use it for work or study? I'm especially curious if there's a big difference in code review or document summarization features.

I had a lot of concerns too, but it's been two months since I paid. Code reviews are definitely much more accurate than 3.5, and long document summaries are way more natural. It feels like my work efficiency has gone up by at least 30%, so I think it's worth the money.

On the contrary, I still feel that the free version is sufficient. Even with 3.5, simple code writing or summarization works well, and paying $20 feels like a waste compared to other subscription services, so I'm not using it.

After switching to 4o for my major studies, the concept explanations became much deeper. The difference is especially noticeable in math proofs and paper summaries. As a student, it feels a bit burdensome, but considering it helps boost my grades, it's not bad.

For $20 a month, that's just a few cups of coffee. I'm a freelance developer, and 4o's code review has been a huge help in catching bugs, so I actually think it saves me money. Give it a try for just one month.

I have a question: is there a free usage limit for 4o? Even if it's paid, it would be annoying if there's a per-hour limit on the number of uses. Does anyone have experience with this?

I started with 3.5, tried 4o, and immediately subscribed. It captures the key points better in document summaries, and Korean language processing is smoother. However, it sometimes slows down, which is a bit disappointing.

Some might think it's expensive, but I use it for work at my company and the productivity difference is clear. It saves me 1-2 hours a day with email writing, report drafting, and data analysis assistance, so it's definitely worth it.

I used the paid version and then downgraded back to the free one. For personal projects, I didn't really notice the advantages of 4o, and I felt it was better to spend that money on other AI tools or books. It varies by person, so I recommend starting with the trial version.
