Which is better, GPT-4o or Claude Code?

What's the best thing to use for coding these days? I've just been using GPT, but I keep seeing people say Claude is better.

If anyone has actually used both, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Well, that's a bit... GPT's coding performance has improved a lot these days, so I wonder if you're siding with Claude based on old standards. If you just look at the benchmarks, the difference isn't even that big.

I use both. GPT-4o is quick and snappy for simple scripts or syntax questions, but Claude Code is definitely better for project-level refactoring that touches multiple files. In particular, its tenacity in chasing down error messages is on another level.
