I Opened an ISA Account, but the Conditions Are Complicated
I went to a securities firm today and opened an ISA account, and I was shocked by how much paperwork there was. The deposit limits and tax benefit conditions are trickier than I expected. Anyone here who makes good use of their ISA—got any tips?

Yeah, ISA is good lol
You must check the tax benefit conditions carefully. You need to meet the payment limit of 20 million won and fulfill the mandatory subscription period of at least 3 years to receive tax-exempt benefits. If you cancel early, you'll lose everything, so you need to think long-term.
We still need to consider the drawbacks of ISAs, such as fees and limited fund choices. Personally, I think IRPs are better.
I also signed up last year, but the benefits were fewer than expected, so I was a bit disappointed. Just buying ETFs with a regular account is more flexible.
Were there a lot of documents? I finished quickly—I only submitted my ID and income verification. Is it different for each brokerage?
Yeah, it's a bit tricky. But once you do it, the tax savings make it worth it.
ISA is great for tax savings, but it's not worth it unless you're investing for the long term. You need to hold it for at least three years to fully benefit from the tax exemption on interest and dividends, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan to leave it untouched.
ISR, not ISA? Haha, just kidding. Read the conditions carefully. Especially the annual contribution limit and mandatory subscription period can be confusing.
It's a bit difficult, but I recommend opening one if you want to get tax exemption on dividends later. I struggled at first too, but if you have a job, there's also a way to get an income verification certificate from your company.
