React vs Vue in 2024: Which One Is Better?
I'm a frontend developer with 2 years of experience, and I've heard that Vue 3 has made a lot of progress lately. I've been using React, but I'm considering switching to Vue. I'd love to hear opinions from people who have actually used both frameworks. Specifically, I'd appreciate a comparison in terms of ecosystem, performance, and learning curve. I'm especially interested in hearing subjective experiences!

Having used both frameworks, React still has an overwhelming ecosystem. Its libraries, community, and demand in the job market are far superior. On the other hand, Vue 3's Composition API is really intuitive, and its low learning curve allows for quick adaptation. Performance is similar, but personally, Vue's reactivity system feels cleaner. For someone in their second year, I think trying out Vue would be a good choice.
I switched to Vue around my second year too, and the main reason was that it's easier to adapt flexibly depending on project scale. React offers high freedom, but sometimes the abundance of choices leads to decision fatigue. Vue has well-organized official guides, making collaboration with team members smoother. However, you might miss out on various tools in the React ecosystem (like Next.js, React Query, etc.). I'd recommend trying Vue for about six months before making a decision.
I've used both, and honestly, these days I feel that 'what problem you're solving' matters more than the tech stack. React excels in large-scale apps or complex state management, while Vue offers great productivity in small to medium-sized projects. The learning curve is definitely lower for Vue—I was able to adapt within two weeks. Performance-wise, there's almost no difference, so consider your current project's nature and team composition. Personally, learning both is beneficial as it broadens your options going forward.
