I bought cheap USB-C cables and ended up throwing away three
I bought a Daiso cable to charge my laptop, and even though it said it supported 100W, it actually only output 60W. The charging speed was half, so at first I thought the adapter was the problem.
In the end, I bought one of those cables with a power display. I thought spending over 10,000 won on a single cable was a waste, but considering I threw away three, I should have just bought a proper one from the start.

I really relate to this... I bought a 100W cable from Daiso too, but it didn't have an E-Marker chip, so it only charged at 60W. The answer is to buy a cable that shows its power rating. Yep.
Well, that's a bit much. It says 100W support, but if it's actually 60W, isn't that not a cable issue but rather your laptop or charger failing to negotiate? Blaming the cable alone seems like weak reasoning. You need to tell us what adapter you used and your laptop model for us to judge.
Rather than saying you should just buy the expensive one, the important thing is to get into the habit of checking whether it has the USB-IF certification mark and an e-marker chip. Price is the result, not the cause. For reference, a 100W cable has to handle up to 5A, so without the chip it will always fall back to 3A (60W). Once you know this, you can weed them out even at Daiso.
