Key Details
Birth and Pre-debut
She was born in Seoul on February 22, 1988. From a young age, she showed talent for dance, and was selected as a trainee at DSP Media, where she underwent about two years of training. Before debut, she prepared for a career as a singer and actress while building her choreography and vocal skills.
RAINBOW Era
In November 2009, she officially debuted as a member of RAINBOW with the digital single "Gossip Girl". RAINBOW was a seven-member girl group composed of Kim Jae-kyung, Go Woori, Oh Seung-ah, No Eul, Jung Yoon-hye, Kim Ji-sook, and Cho Hyun-young, and drew attention at debut with the concept of "seven members, seven colors." Within the team, Go Woori was in charge of dance breaks and performances, acting as a central pillar of the choreography.
They went on to release songs such as "A," "Mach," "To Me," "Sweet Dream," "Tell Me Tell Me," "Sunshine," and "Black Swan." In particular, "Tell Me Tell Me" and "Sunshine," released in 2013, gained great popularity overseas, including in Japan, solidifying their position as a Korean Wave girl group. Go Woori, as the team's "mood maker" and a member with excellent variety show sense, appeared on various entertainment programs and made her face known to the public.
Transition to Acting
After RAINBOW officially disbanded in 2016, Go Woori turned to acting and focused on acting activities. She appeared in dramas including 〈Mother's Garden〉 and 〈Drinking Solo〉, honing her acting skills, and later expanded her scope of activities to various media such as independent films and web dramas. As befitting a former dancer, she was evaluated as showing acting that makes use of her physical expressiveness and sense of rhythm.
RAINBOW Reunion and Present
In 2019, to mark the 10th anniversary of RAINBOW's debut, the members reunited and presented a special stage, meeting fans again. This became a hot topic as an example showing the members' close relationship even after disbandment. Go Woori has continued activities since then, communicating with fans through entertainment shows, performances, SNS, and more.
Recent Trends
As of 2024–2025, Go Woori continues her career as an actress while sharing her daily life and current status through personal channels such as YouTube and Instagram, actively communicating with the public. Amid the trend of second-generation girl group members turned actors being reevaluated in entertainment and content, Go Woori is also receiving attention for both the memories of the team "RAINBOW" and her current acting activities. Additionally, as the trend of K-pop second-generation artists reuniting and being reevaluated continues, interest in the current status and activities of RAINBOW members continues steadily.
