Life
Son Tae-young was born on August 19, 1980, in Daegu Metropolitan City. In 2000, she won the second runner-up (Mi) title in the Miss Korea Daegu-Gyeongbuk regional competition and later won the runner-up (Seon) title in the national Miss Korea pageant, officially debuting in the entertainment industry. After working as a model, she made her acting debut in 2003 with the SBS drama Screen.
Initially appearing in minor or supporting roles, she began to establish herself as a leading actress in 2005 with the SBS weekend drama That Summer's Typhoon. She subsequently expanded her acting range through various dramas and films.
Career
After winning Miss Korea, Son Tae-young worked as a fashion model, appearing in magazines such as CeCi, Vogue, and Elle. After transitioning to acting, her major works include the dramas That Summer's Typhoon (2005), I Want to Love (2006), Temptation of an Angel (2009), and My Love By My Side (2011), as well as the films The Unforgiven: The Legend of the Dragon (2006) and The Unforgiven 2: The Legend of the Dragon (2007).
In 2008, she attempted overseas activities by appearing in the Chinese drama The Grand Strategist (大軍師). From the mid-2010s, she reduced her acting activities to focus on raising her children, but returned to the small screen in the 2020s with the drama Young Lady and Gentleman (2021–2022).

Personal Life
Son Tae-young publicly revealed her relationship with actor Kwon Sang-woo in 2008, and the couple married on September 28, 2008, at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul. They have a son, Kwon Ri-hoon (born 2009), and a daughter, Kwon Ra-won (born 2015).
In 2010, she appeared as a guest on the variety show Happy Sunday – The Return of Superman with her husband Kwon Sang-woo, sharing glimpses of their family life. In 2021, she made her acting comeback after six years with the KBS2 drama Young Lady and Gentleman, which aired in the same time slot as her husband Kwon Sang-woo's drama The King of Tears, Lee Bang-won, drawing significant attention.
She actively communicates with fans by regularly sharing family photos and daily life on her personal social media accounts.
