Yoona (Korean: 윤아; real name Im Yoon-ah, 임윤아; born May 30, 1990) is a South Korean singer and actress. She debuted in 2007 as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and established herself as an idol representing Hallyu while serving as the group's center and visual. At the same time, she appeared in dramas such as You Are My Destiny, Prime Minister and I, The King: Eternal Monarch, and Big Mouth, solidifying her position as an actress, and returned to the screen with the 2022 film Confidential Assignment 2: International.

Debut and Girls' Generation Activities
Yoona debuted in August 2007 with Girls' Generation's single Into the New World. At the time, she was 17 years old, and with her innocent appearance and stable stage presence, she became a symbolic figure of the group. She participated in activities for numerous hit songs such as “Gee,” “Genie,” “I Got a Boy,” “Lion Heart,” and “Forever 1,” contributing to elevating Girls' Generation to the ranks of Asia's top girl groups. Acting Career
Her acting career began before her debut. In 2007, she officially made her mark as an actress through the drama 9 End 2 Outs, and in 2008 she took her first lead role in the KBS drama You Are My Destiny, receiving great love. She subsequently appeared in Cinderella Man, Love Rain, Prime Minister and I, The K2, and others; in particular, she was praised for broadening her acting range through The King: Eternal Monarch in 2020 and Big Mouth in 2022. In the 2017 film Confidential Assignment and its 2022 sequel Confidential Assignment 2: International, she showcased comedic action acting and demonstrated her presence on the screen as well. The 2019 film Exit drew 9.42 million viewers, becoming her representative box-office hit.
Music and Solo Activities
In 2018, she balanced activities with the Girls' Generation-Oh!GG unit and solo work, and in 2019 she released her first solo album, A Walk to Remember, showing her side as a ballad vocalist. In 2021, she released the special album Blossom. She is cited as a representative example of an “all-around entertainer” who balances full-group Girls' Generation activities and individual activities.
