I'm Five Years into Being a Developer, and Coding Isn't Fun Anymore
I make good money and the company isn't bad, but opening my IDE in the morning is getting scarier and scarier. Adding features and deploying feels mechanical.
I thought maybe I should do a side project, so I started a bunch of things, but they all fizzled out. I used to enjoy coding all night.
Has anyone been through a phase like this? I'm curious how you got through it.

At five years in, that’s exactly the phase you’re in lol. I felt the same back then—just opening the IDE felt like a chore. But trying to fix it with side projects usually just leaves you more drained. For me, spending about six months prepping for a job change and looking at new codebases actually brought me back to life a bit. Changing your environment worked faster than side projects.
