Should I Set Up a Discord Server Before Launching My Game?

I'm two years into game design and preparing to launch an indie game. I've heard it's best to open a community before making any announcements, so I plan to do that. Should I start with Discord first? Or an X (Twitter) account? I don't even have a playable build yet, so I have no content to promote. Any advice would be appreciated.

Even if you start with Discord, it's meaningless if no one joins in the first place lol. Wouldn't it be better to just post dev logs on Twitter and draw interest?

I launched with an indie game team before, and we had the opposite experience—we opened the Discord first and it ended up dying out. Without a build, people would drop by, but there was nothing to talk about, so they quickly left. I'd rather open X and Discord together once you have a teaser video or a few GIFs ready. I think a community should be opened after there's already some content stacked up.
