I Went Through 5 Backend Entry-Level Interviews (Review)
I’ve been preparing to change jobs and did five interviews over a month. The results were 2 first-round passes and 3 rejections.
What I noticed across the board is that you really need to dig deep into the technologies you list on your resume. They also asked a lot about why you used that technology and what alternatives there were.
The atmosphere was more about asking deep questions on project explanations than coding tests, so organizing your own experience seems much more important.
I have one final interview left next week and I’m nervous. Good luck to everyone.

Passing the first round at 2 out of 5 places isn’t bad, is it? Good luck with the final interview!
I totally agree. I remember putting a single line about Redis on my resume and then completely freezing when asked, "Why did you use it?"... Since then, whenever I add a technology, I make sure to organize the alternatives and trade-offs in advance. The best way to really cut down on wasted effort is to explain your own project in your own words. Good luck with the final round too.
