Question About a Junior Frontend Portfolio
Hello, I'm a junior developer preparing for job hunting. I'm currently working on a project to include in my portfolio, and I have a question.
The project I'm currently working on spans everything from planning and design to development, all done by myself. However, the design quality feels a bit lacking, so I'm thinking about getting feedback from a working designer. I'm curious whether it's generally acceptable to ask someone outside like this. How did you seniors handle the design side of your portfolio projects?

Honestly, it's fine to ask outsiders for help—in fact, you should. When I was a junior, my design sense was lacking, but I got feedback from a designer acquaintance and improved a lot. Just don't try to fix everything—take it as reference only. After all, if you're in a front-end position, development skills matter more, so it's best not to get too hung up on design quality.
Well, that's a bit... I mean, getting designer feedback is of course good, but if you reflect all of it in your portfolio, you might get asked in an interview, 'Did you actually do this design?' Wouldn't it be better to just use an open-source template or UI kit instead?
