Thinking about getting an iPhone 17—what's different from the 16 Pro right now?
I'm planning to switch over from a Samsung Galaxy, so I really don't know anything. Should I just get the 16 Pro or hold out for the 17? I take a lot of photos and play games a bit too.

Agreed, if it's a game, wait for the 17. I hear the cooling has improved too.
I've been on Samsung Galaxy for 2 years before switching too, and the 16 Pro takes decent photos. But since you said you take a lot of photos and game, the 17 might be better. I've heard the new chipset and battery optimization are pretty noticeable. That said, if the 16 Pro's price drops enough, getting that is also an option.
Well, I'm not so sure about that. The 17 hasn't even been released yet, so any talk of improvements is just rumors. The 16 Pro is already a great phone, and the camera difference might not even be that significant. Plus, if it's an early production batch, there could be defect issues. If you need a phone now, I think getting the 16 Pro is the right choice.
