My 9-Night, 10-Day Solo Emotional Trip to Jeju Island
Work had been wearing me down, and people were draining me, so I escaped to Jeju without a second thought. For 9 nights and 10 days, I moved between three guesthouses with no set schedule, and my daily routine was incredibly simple.
I'd wake up in the morning, work a two-hour shift at a tangerine farm, eat kimbap by the sea for lunch, take photos in the afternoon, then grill samgyeopsal and talk with people I'd met at the guesthouse in the evening.
What I remember most is waking up at 4 AM to catch the sunrise near Seongsan Ilchulbong. There were some clouds, so it was a bit disappointing, but in that moment, I felt like it was okay to do nothing at all.
Even if you're not used to traveling alone, I'd recommend it at least once. When I got back, my mindset about the project I'd been working on had completely changed.

Yeah, solo travel is healing lol
I also quit my job a few years ago and did a month-long stay on Jeju Island, and it really changed my life. But unlike you, I didn't go while working part-time—I just went with my savings... Even now, I think it was the right choice. However, don't view it too romantically. I think the experience will be as good as your realistic preparation.
Well, isn't that a bit idealistic? In reality, there's lodging and food costs... 9 nights and 10 days would add up. Can a tangerine farm part-time job really cover that? I'm a bit doubtful.
Got a source? Where did you find the part-time job?
Wow, I've been so exhausted lately and wanted to go to Jeju Island too—this post gave me the courage. It's my first time traveling alone, so could you recommend a guesthouse? And by the way, how do you usually find part-time work at a tangerine farm?
You call this a sentimental trip, but your entire routine is just part-time work and grilling meat? It's no different from other travel blog posts. And isn't that "changed mindset" just temporary? You go right back to your old self once you return.
Oh, I didn't know about this. Maybe I should try it too.
