Is it okay to let ChatGPT proofread my resume?
I was so overwhelmed writing my resume that I just ran it through GPT first. It polishes the sentences nicely, but something feels kind of samey...
I'm curious how everyone else uses it.

I admit, it really polishes sentences nicely, but they all end up similar lol
I only use GPT for structuring. I ask it which experience to put first and what to leave out when I'm figuring out the order, and then I rewrite the final sentences myself. If you just say "fix this," everything comes out in the same consulting tone, and it won't get you past the document screening.
Isn't that outdated? These days, if you specify the tone, it comes out much more natural. Didn't you just run the prompt as a one-liner like "polish this"?

Honestly, it’s 50/50. HR people can spot GPT-written sentences right away. When stuff like “achieved results” gets repeated, it’s genuinely exhausting for the reader. If it gets too polished, it actually loses the human touch, so I deliberately leave some rough phrasing in.
Hard disagree. If it feels the same, that's not a GPT problem — it's because your experience is the same as everyone else's lol. Just add one project that sets you apart from others and things will change fast.
