Claude vs GPT vs Gemini: Which is best at coding?

These days I often have AI write code for me. What do you all use?

I mainly use Claude, but sometimes GPT handles things better. I don't want to pay for multiple subscriptions, so I'd like to pick just one—any recommendations?

Yeah, Claude is the most sensible.

I use GPT and Claude interchangeably, but for coding, Claude feels more meticulous? Though for large-scale projects, GPT can be better sometimes. If I had to pick just one, I'd go with Claude.

Well, I find Gemini better, honestly? Especially when it comes to reflecting the latest API docs, that one's fast. Isn't it just a matter of personal preference?

Honestly, I've used all three, but at the end of the day, I still have to understand the code myself. If you just trust whatever AI writes, you're in for trouble. For what it's worth, I recently refactored with GPT, and it was actually more stable than Claude. That's why I've settled on GPT.

Got a source? Like benchmark scores or something?

I'm also Claude.

Disagree. Claude keeps stopping mid-code these days. GPT seems to have better completeness.

Oh, I didn't know this 👍

If cost is a concern, it's best to use Claude for free and occasionally ask GPT only for the hard parts. That's what I do.
