Establishment Background and Purpose

The Ansan area has characteristics in which residential areas behind industrial complexes, multicultural families, and the youth population coexist. Ansan Nuribom Center was established to support the healthy growth of youth and resolve care gaps for families in line with these local characteristics. By linking with community networks, it aims beyond simply providing facilities to become a 'participatory community space' where residents directly participate and plan.

Major Facilities and Space Layout

The center is largely divided into counseling and support spaces, education and program spaces, and culture and community spaces. In counseling rooms and group counseling rooms, youth psychological counseling and family counseling take place, and in program rooms and the auditorium, after-school learning, career exploration, and culture and arts courses are operated. In addition, open spaces such as a shared kitchen, a book cafe-style lounge, and small meeting rooms are available for free use by any resident.

Operated Programs

Representative programs include youth career and college admission mentoring, support for Korean language and cultural adaptation of multicultural families, intergenerational culture and arts programs, parent education and family counseling, and lifelong learning courses for local residents. Seasonal camps, vacation special lectures, and volunteer-linked activities are also regularly operated, and cooperation with local schools, welfare institutions, and libraries increases the accessibility and continuity of programs.

Usage Information and Operating System

The center is operated based on public-private cooperation, and most spaces and basic programs, except for some in-depth counseling and education programs, are open to local residents. Use is through advance reservation or on-site registration, and a priority support system for youth and vulnerable groups is operated. It has a governance structure in which an operating committee and resident advisory group regularly participate in program evaluation and improvement.

Community Linkages

Ansan Nuribom Center provides integrated services through agreements with local schools, youth counseling and welfare centers, comprehensive social welfare centers, multicultural support organizations, and culture and arts organizations. Through this, it focuses on building a 'one-stop support system' so that youth in need of counseling can be connected to appropriate specialized institutions.

Latest Trends

In 2024–2025, Ansan Nuribom Center is expanding its projects under the keywords of digital transformation and intergenerational integration. Digital literacy and media education for youth and the operation of online counseling channels have been strengthened, and an intergenerational empathy program in which older adults and young people participate together has been newly established. In addition, community projects linked with local commercial districts and social economy organizations, and programs reflecting social agendas such as climate and environmental education, are increasing. In connection with the local government's youth and family policies, after-school and vacation care linkage projects to resolve care gaps are also expanding.
