6 Months of Running: 5K from 30 Minutes to 22 Minutes
Last year, even just breathing was exhausting. Now I run 5K in 22 minutes. Time wasn't my goal, but seeing the number go down was fun.
Nothing special helped. Three runs a week: one interval session, one slow long run, and one just to loosen up. And the shoes were essential. I lasted three months in cheap running shoes, then my knees hurt so I switched, and after that the pain disappeared.
Now, if I don't run, the day feels off. I guess even someone who struggled with a 30-minute jog at the start can end up like this.

A 22-minute 5K would put you near the top even at a local running club—but in just 6 months? Honestly, that’s a bit suspicious lol. Isn’t this someone who already worked out and just started running? A complete beginner going from 30 minutes to 22 isn’t really a common case.
Shoes, true—this one alone saved my knees.
