I Started Reading Books Again Recently, and I Found Some Good Ones
I hadn't read a single book in years. I'd become completely conditioned by YouTube and Shorts, so after about ten pages my hand would drift to my phone.
So I changed my approach. I leave my phone in a different room entirely and read for just 20 minutes a day. The first two weeks were genuinely rough, but after about a month I started being able to focus on text again.
Of everything I've read this year, what I enjoyed most was essays rather than novels. Books about life wouldn't have resonated with me a few years ago, but reading them now feels different.
I'm also thinking about joining a book club — I'm curious how everyone keeps one going without it feeling forced.

True, leaving your phone in another room really works. I do that too.
Honestly, though, I'm not sure reading with a 20-minute timer really counts as reading... When I did that, it felt like homework, so I ended up avoiding it even more. In the end, shouldn't it be about the fun, not the quantity?
