I was told I have an early-stage herniated disc: how do you exercise?
I'm in my mid-30s, and my left leg has been tingling/numb for a few months, so I went to the hospital and they said it's an early-stage herniated disc. They said it's not at the point of surgery and told me to start with physical therapy and posture correction.
I have a desk job, so sitting for 8 hours a day seems to be the problem—would using a standing desk when working from home help? I'm also curious what core exercises I should do and how much. I've heard that overdoing it can actually make things worse, so I'm scared.
I'd appreciate advice from anyone with experience.

Agreed—standing desks really do help. But it's not about standing all day; the key is alternating between sitting and standing every 30 minutes.
Same here ㅠㅠ I'm in my early 30s, and working from home has completely wrecked my back.
The whole "standing desks are always good" thing is a bit much... For some people, standing for long periods actually puts more strain on their back. I tried working standing and it hurt more, so I sat back down lol
At 32, I got an early-stage finding of L4-L5 and struggled with it for six months, but what ultimately helped was 10 minutes a day of dead bugs and bird dogs learned properly from a physical therapist. When I just followed YouTube videos on my own, my form got all out of whack and it hurt even more... Since everyone is different, I recommend learning from an expert at least once or twice.
